Happy Autism Awareness Month! I hope that all of you are staying safe and in quarantine to help those who are risking their lives to fight this pandemic. I would love for all of my readers to post about autism awareness month on social media by sharing a simple statistic on a Facebook post or posting a picture of wearing blue on Instagram. You can start simply by sharing statistics from an autism awareness charity like Autism Speaks or Autism Society. I have adopted myself wearing blue every Friday during the month of April. As readers, this community can share via my blog posts and telling your friends & family to share with others. Whether you are disabled or able-bodied, education is the best tool in life to comprehend life's challenges. You can share with several hashtags including #autismawarenessmonth, #autismawareness, and #lightitupblue.
When you post a picture on social media:
Make sure to tag me on Instagram and include/post my Facebook page!
Use the Autism Hashtags that I have listed to allow the community to show your support
Share on multiple platforms
Make sure to include accessibility text on all posts. Accessibility text is a description of a picture you post. This allows those with vision loss to the experience of enjoying the picture without the ability to see.
If you are to post a video, please use captions to allow people like me with hearing loss to enjoy the content you produce.
If you have any questions about Autism, please resort to What is Autism post. I am also welcome to answer questions on my social media including my Instagram @make_it_blue_adisneyadventure and on my facebook page @ Make It Blue - A Disney Adventure. I encourage you all to subscribe to my website to follow my journey and enjoy this adventure we call life.
Keep smiling and I cannot wait to see what one post can do to change the world!
Caitlin
